Position Description：
Guangdong Technion Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) is looking for a Lab Manager/Lab Technician with a master's degree to manage a central lab and provide high-end professional services to faculty members to support their research.
Duties and Responsibilities：
•Set up and operate all the shared central lab instruments; maintain and troubleshoot them to ensure their operational conditions or normal use; order needed consumable items and chemicals.
•Manage a booking system for the normal use of the instruments by various internal/external users.
•Establish proper lab protocols and standard operation procedures (SOPs) for each instrument, and make sure they are accessible by the users.
•Training students in operating key instruments.
•Set up the proper safety regulations and ensure their implementation, including the proper disposal of chemical and microbiological wastes. Test and maintain safety equipment regularly, oversee the Materials Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) record and SOPs. Ensures that all safety procedures are consistently met.
•Provide measurement and analysis services to the faculty members and some external users.
Required Job Specifications：
•M.S. degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials, Environmental or other relevant program.
•Experience in operating analysis equipment, including GC-MS, FTIR, TGA, DSC, BET, TPR, etc.
•Ability to solve technical problems and self-learning.
•Ability to read scientific papers and adopt research procedures.
•Experience with scientific paper publication or patents is a plus.
